I was there as a: Overnight RV'er, Single person/couple  

We stayed there for a week and were very disappointed. I was very surprised that there were very few washrooms/showers for this campground. The showers were not handicap accessible at all. My wife is deaf/blind and getting into the shower was very difficult and stressful. The fact that the showers are in the bathrooms made it difficult for here. I feel that there should be "stand alone" showers where I cam accompany my wife for her comfort.

Rideau Acres Campground: Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear about about your experience. In April and early May with limited traffic we have only open one of the four washroom buildings. This is the building that is heated for cold weather. Our accessible washroom was opened the first week of May. It has a ramp and a wheelchair accessible shower with a fold down bench in both the men’s and women’s side. Unfortunately of the sixteen showers we do not have any free standing. I apologize for the frustration we caused your wife and yourself and will definitely take your recommendations for future washroom amenities and will open the accessible washroom earlier in the spring going forward. Again, my sincere apologies for your experience and I truly appreciate your review as it allows us an opportunity to improve our service going forward. Susan
