Stayed at Summer House Park for the first time and it is a great private campground. We typically stay at Provincial Parks and our last attempt at a private campground did not go very well as there was no privacy between sites so we were worried about our site at Summer House; upon arrival we were very happy with the site that we reserved with the help of the Summer House staff:-) We told them we preferred private sites as much as possible as we have dogs and they helped us select the right one for our family; we even booked the same site for next year! The site was only 2pt (electrical and water which we were fine with), our 22ft trailer with slide out fit just fine with plenty of room for our SUV; only complaint about the campground no garbage/trash can at the dump station. Staff was friendly and the park was well maintained bathrooms were always clean; beach is a little smaller than it appears on the website however we did not mind; not too far from Singing Sands National Park. Most of the seasonal sites are private & beautiful which is expected since that is what they pay for so some of the RV/Trailer sites are not as private; if you have dogs that are protective call ahead and speak to staff to get a more private site; they certainly helped us! :-) There are some really nice tent sites as well over-looking Miller Lake so if you have a tent try for the A section some nice scenery! Lots of activities and yes there is a cost but what doesn't cost extra now a days...kids loved renting the peddle bikes and I thought $7 per half hour was fine they rode up to our site and back and that was enough for them!! Ate at the café the last day which was nice to have breakfast and then head home. Plus there are also sleeping cabins and cottages so for those who want to try to rough it...stay at a sleeping cabin and see how you like it! Overall great campground & well priced!
